ALHS Has Talent
ALHS Has Talent is a talent show featuring the staff of the high school on February 9 at 7 p.m. Acts will include musical performances, dramatic readings, and comedy skits. The show will be hosted by Kurt Barickman and Margo Wayne at the ALHS auditorium. The show will be approximately 90 minutes. Tickets are $10 and can be bought at the door. All ticket proceeds will go directly into the Orrie Jirele scholarship fund. The ticket sales from the event would be able to fund a number of scholarships for Albert Lea students. Orries’s Career in Albert Lea by the numbers 28 - years in education at Albert Lea High School (counselor/summer school administrator) 14 - years as Head Basketball Coach (1973-1987) 3 – Big Nine Championships (77-78, 78-79, 86-87) 3 – Regional Finals 1 – at least one Big 9 Coach of the Year (86-87) 165 wins – 108 losses Served as Head Boy’s Tennis Coach There are countless number of students, colleagues, and community members impacted by his 28 years in education and coaching.
